In 2019, the Friends of the Canton Library meets on the first Monday every other month. The meetings are held in the Canton Branch Meeting Room from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
The Canton Branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library is one of the first branch libraries in Maryland. Think about how many people have walked through the doors since 1886 to read, share and learn! The Friends of the Canton Library is dedicated to continuing this proud tradition and assuring that the library continues to be a vital part of our community. Join other people who love the library and help support this valuable community resource.
What do the Canton Library Friends do?
Raise money to support cultural and educational programs and events for all generations
Engage the community and raise awareness of resources, events and programs at the library
Volunteer time for special projects and committees
Have fun. Enjoy the library events and celebrate the history and future of one of the oldest branch libraries in the country!
You can make a difference - whether you become an active Friends volunteer or simply want to add your financial support to this important community resource, we welcome you and thank you. It’s simple to join. Just select the annual membership level that’s best for you and make the donation using the button below. You can also download a membership form and drop it off at/mail it to the library, or find forms located in the lobby's main entrance to be filled out.

Your membership is effective for one calendar year. Upon receipt of your membership donation and information, we will e-mail you to confirm your status, thank you for your generous donation and membership with the Friends, and ask for your preference between a tote bag or a cook book. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting! The Friends of the Canton Library is an IRS Approved 501(c)(3). Membership and donations are tax deductible.
